went for elva's concert. ever since L got me hooked onto her tune, Gei wo chong xin ai ni de ji hui, she's been the singer i wld choose in any ktv sessions. Now...it'ii be time to return to mellyland, though first i'ii make a crash landing to brisbane, the place where i got my initial sun burn and literally, sun stroke... anywaz. it'ii be another 6 days and prob another 2 ktv sessions before i'm off...
got back my results..and well, its ok i figured, but media seems a distant dream for me. just got to buck up and strap in.
back to elva. she rocks. despite the little mishap on the way there, where the bus driver left us stranded on the bus, while we watched a couple hijack us, curiously wondering whether to pay the fare or not...(which later, i assumed the driver realized, observed from the guy's incessent apologies dished out to the driver, who obviously wasnt in too good a mood, after a scrap with a jerky car driver - looks like this bus driver wldnt be winning any courtesy awards in the near future...)
along the way, L's constant reminder that the mrt wld have been a better choice only served to fuel my already rising fear of missing the concert all together. thoughts of hideous guards ambushing us, preventing our entry, tearing our tickets up infront of our face got to me... the thoughts killed me.
by 8.15, with suntec full in view...and the handed out knowledge that she could have started without us, was no comfort to me. hopping off the bus and making a beeline for the escalator, and a possible chance of tripping and falling didnt help ease my furrowed brows and taut nerves.
despite all these, we had the luxury of entering the toilet, tart trying on a beanie, me checking out the dvds on sale...all in time to be pestered over and over again by the kind ushers who only had the best of intentions to guide us safely in the midst of weird gay-looking men who seem to fester in such an occasion( rite tart?)
the wonder of the 75 dollar ticket, the not too far, not too near, just nice ticket, landed us in the far end corner of the 2nd block of seats. blah. once the show commenced, both me and tart started plotting...plotting to shift our butts to the next nearest seat to the stage which was still far far away from our beloved elva. she still looked like barbie from our pov. the idea that anyone that the usher was showing in cld be the deserving person of the seats we had taken over really kept us on the edge of our seats throughout the performance.
when elva did appear which was about a good 30 mins into the 8ish printed on our ticket stub, she was so glam, she literally took my breath away. even though i knew that my digi cam probably cant take good pictures in the dark, but who cared? i wanted to and i did just that. i even got up enough guts to make my way to the front of the stage, despite the fierce guards and the messy, noisy crowds and the drooling boys who cried passionately, elva!!! WO AI NI....blah...
