Heart Least:
Never once did I forsee this façade,
You brought me a promise of eternal love,
Despite myself,
I bought that dream wholeheartedly.
Joyous and endless dreams still remain,
Buried deep in the dark abyss of my mind.
Love was a fleeting pleasure to you,
A bright spark that fizzled out eventually.
You will never understand,
The love I was willing to pour over you.
The moment now we spend is brilliant,
Bright and splendid as the sun,
Soft and subtle as the moon.
I can be the character of your mind,
The fiction in your book.
You would’nt forget me tomorrow,
Because the end is never written without a beginning.
Yet, all the good and sweetness would be erased,
Wiped out like a duster on a chalk board,
Leaving nothing but dust, dust and more dust.
Have you never looked into my eyes,
Seeing for yourself how deeply I feel,
The desires inter-mixed with pain,
When what I had, I have but lost.
Finally, I understand,
The kind of feeling, the excitement, the passion,
Yet loving was never meant to be a torture,
And yet betrayal was never a crime.
There would come a time when moving on meant moving away,
Distancing, further and out of sight,
Through fate we met,
Destiny tore us apart,
Hearts don’t match,
Birds soar high and far beyond.
Tomorrow seems such a distance away,
Especially when I’m thinking and missing something.
Things change, people change, even buildings change.
What seemed a sanctuary, a place of beauty,
Now seems corrupted, disfigured, uglified.
